Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take part in the launch of the Generación D: Construyendo la Generación IA program as a postdoctoral researcher in the Momentum-CSIC training initiative, held at the Ilustre Colegio Oficial de Médicos de Madrid (ICOMEM).
The program, driven by Red.es and backed by a €120 million investment through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, was officially presented by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

🎓 As part of the CSIC, one of the four public institutions selected to execute the program, I’m among the 374 researchers hired across Spain — including 43% postdocs, 17% predoctoral researchers, and 41% technical staff — who are working to advance the application of Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation across all areas of science and research.
🧠 The program also includes a comprehensive training plan equivalent to 240 ECTS credits, aimed at developing strong research skills in AI applied to disciplines ranging from biomedicine and nanoscience to oceanography and genomics.
Alongside the CSIC, the other participating institutions are the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC), and the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) — with projects active in 29 provinces across all 17 autonomous communities.
This initiative represents a firm step towards building the scientific and technological workforce of the future, reinforcing Spain’s commitment to responsible AI development and the promotion of top-level research talent.
